As I am ending one chapter of my life and entering into a new one; it was pivotal for me to end with a full tool box, as cliche as that may sound. In my case my tool box was lacking skills, knowledge, and most importantly, relationships. That was of course, until I met Kim the CEO of Embark Marketing and the rest of the Emark team!

A Full Tool Box

A full tool box can and will look different to everyone but what everyone should strive to have is skills, knowledge, and relationships. My first day here at Embark felt like a breath of fresh air as I could see how all these needs would soon be fulfilled. Throughout the summer I was assigned over ten marketing accounts to assist my amazing account manager, Daniella. From field trips, video editing, to responding to customer reviews. I not only felt that I was heavily contributing to the Embark team, but also to the individual clients. Which was exactly what I was looking for! I was learning the appropriate skills and techniques that are needed to excel in this career field while also meeting and connecting with members of the San Antonio community. As a girl native to Houston, Texas I genuinely enjoyed all the relationships this internship allowed me to build. As I Embark into this new chapter of my life, I know that my tool box may be full but will never be complete. I am a firm believer that one should never settle but should always look for places to improve and learn. Luckily for me Kim and her team provided the tools to fill my box and now it is up to me to complete it!

Why Embark?

Before this internship, I felt unsure about what I needed to feel fulfilled as I approached my final semester at Texas A&M—College Station. I knew it was time to take action. While scrolling through Google, I stumbled upon Embark Marketing and instantly felt it was the right fit. The environment, the account managers, and the overall structure of the internship made it the perfect place to kickstart my marketing career. Reflecting on my summer, I remember my first day when I was introduced to Splice, an editing software that initially intimidated me. Fast forward three months, and I found myself excitedly discussing new AI editing tools with Kim—something I would have never imagined at the start. This experience taught me that no matter how lost you feel, there’s always someone out there to guide you; you just have to seek them out. Be yourself, stay creative, and most importantly, show kindness—just like the Embark team did for me.
